The Sixth Form has seen a period of significant and sustained high levels of attainment on both academic and vocational qualifications. Our 2015/16 results saw the Sixth Form achieve significantly positive Value Added/progress scores on both qualification types, as evidenced in the 16 – 18 performance tables for Nottingham City. A comparison of Nottingham City schools provided by the Department for Education can be found here.
This positive value added score has increased for the last 3 years, indicating that our students make more progress than those of similar levels of prior attainment nationally, maximising their potential. These results allowed the majority of our students to take up a place at their first choice of university, including over 25% at Russell Group institutions, with 3 students gaining places at either Oxford or Cambridge and further success in other competitive entry courses such as medicine, nursing and primary teaching. For other students this has allowed them to progress on to their chosen apprenticeship or employment opportunity.
The data below summarises the achievement of students at Bluecoat Academy Sixth Form in 2015/16, further details can be found on the DfE summary page found here.
