Exam Success at Bluecoat Aspley Academy
We are delighted with our GCSE results again this year at Bluecoat Aspley Academy. The hard work and determination of both our staff and students who celebrate and welcome inclusivity with our SEN and Alternative provision cohorts, has led to another brilliant year. We are so very proud of each and every one of our students.
Some notable successes are:
(It is worth noting that Grade 9 is the highest available grade and only the top percent of the country achieve this in each subject.)
Ben Turner-Tatman – 7 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 1 grade 7 and a B.
Dominika Lopacinska – 6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, 2 A*s and an A.
Divya Mohanti, our Head Girl – 4 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s, 1 grade 7, and an A*.
In terms of progress from Key Stage 2, Oskar Gasperski’s grades are likely to average nearly 5 grades above expectations in every subject, with a particular strength in English Language where he achieved an 8!
Sadiya Rahman joined us at Bluecoat Aspley in September 2017 from a specialist educational provider for students who have recently entered the country. However, until starting with us at Bluecoat Aspley, she was not due to sit any GCSE courses. We wanted to give Sadiya the opportunity she deserved but the challenge for her was to complete them all within just one year. Despite this, Sadiya has experienced huge successes, achieving 9 high GCSE passes: 1 A*, 2As, 8/7 in Combined Science, a grade 7 in Maths, 2 grade 6s and a grade 5. What a wonderful achievement! Well done Sadiya!
Anthony Swift has also achieved huge success. Anthony overcame his learning difficulties, working extremely hard to study for 11 GCSEs. His hard work paid off gaining 1A, 1B, 1 grade 7, 5 grade 6s, 1 grade 5 and a Level 2 Distinction. Well done Anthony.
