Welcome to the Bluecoat Aspley website for pupils and parents during the school closure. We hope that this page helps to support your learning during this period.
Guidance for pupils while schools are closed
During the previous school closures we have made great strides in our ability to deliver an appropriate school curriculum to all students at home. Staff have worked hard to adapt normal lessons into something that students can access and enjoy while staying safe from home.
Students will be therefore expected to follow their usual timetable while at home. Lessons will be found either on their calendar, through an email or through the appropriate Teams channel for that lesson. When a lesson starts, students will be notified and they can join directly through that link. Lessons will be slightly shorter than usual to allow students 5-10 minutes to move around between lessons and reduce screen time where possible.
At the moment there is no need to attend Tutor Time in the morning. Your attendance is logged through lessons. Instead, Year Leaders will send out information and activities each week. This could be something to read, an Act of Worship to watch or a Careers activity. You can do this whenever you like during the week, to help you plan your time on screen.
We understand that there can be issues with technology, so we ask that you communicate any issues as soon as possible to the appropriate support person so that we can help you avoid missing valuable learning. For issues logging into teams, or difficulties in using the teams application / website itself, contact IT Support on firstname.lastname@example.org for issues with your lesson invitations / scheduling / classroom content, please contact your teacher directly
Your well-being is really important to us in these challenging times. Remember you can you reach out to someone at school whenever you feel you need to. There is also a well-being tab with ideas for looking after yourself.
