GCSE Success at Bluecoat Aspley Academy 2019
We are delighted with our fantastic GCSE results this year at Bluecoat Aspley Academy. The hard work and determination of both our staff and students who celebrate and welcome inclusivity with our SEN and Alternative provision cohorts, has led to another brilliant year. We are so very proud of each and every one of our students. An improvement in results to an initial 0.2 Progress 8 score is fantastic for our large and diverse cohort.
Some notable successes are:
(It is worth noting that Grade 9 is the highest available grade and only the highest percent in the country achieve this in each subject.)
Chanuli Weerasuriya – 6 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, 1A, 1Grade 6, 1 Grade 5
Praveer Mistry – 2 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s, 1A*, 1 Distinction*, 1 Distinction, 1 Grade A, 2 Grade 7s
Muhammed Abdullah – 4 Grade 9s, 1 A* with Distinction, 1 A*, 1 Grade 8, 3 Grade 7s, 1 Grade 6
Lily Amaral – 3 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s, 1 A*, 4 Grade 7s, 1 Grade 5
It is also worth noting students who have made the most progress through hard work, grit and determination and truly believing they can do it:
Nargas Riaz achieved nearly 5 grades above her expected progress in each of her subjects, what an accolade!
Elena Shaiakhmetova and Patryk Zablotny achieved more than 3 times their expected score. This is just fantastic!
Another notable success is Kayleigh Holleworth who did fantastically well in a combination of GCSE, Vocational and Foundation Learning subjects. We are ever so proud of you Kayleigh!
Throughout the year our students have been faced with lots of ups and downs both in the Academy and in their personal lives. These results are a testament to their hard work and determination and from the staff here at Bluecoat Aspley Academy. We truly believe! Well done everyone, from all at Bluecoat Aspley.
