Bluecoat Academy Sixth Form – A Level Results 2019

We were once again thrilled at the results achieved by our Year 13 students on both A level and vocational qualifications; achieving a 99% pass rate, well above the national average. These fantastic results mean that the vast majority of students will take up places at their first choice of University or on their preferred apprenticeship. This includes a large number of students going on to study on some of the most competitive qualifications including nursing, engineering and primary teaching, at some of the most prestigious Universities.

Beth Harris – Having suffered with anorexia in year 11 and sitting her GCSE exams at home, Beth entered the Sixth Form in 2017 choosing A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Geography. In Year 13 she was appointed as Head Girl evidencing her fantastic contribution to the Sixth Form. Beth has gone on to achieve ‘A’ grades in all of her subjects and is going on to study Veterinary Medicine at Surrey University.

Carlton Brown – Carlton was involved in a serious road traffic accident in September 2018, just as he started his year 13 studies. He suffered a significant head injury as a consequence, leading him to miss nearly 3 months of his studies. Carlton has showed great resilience in battling back from this and has gone on to achieve A level grades of A*, A, B and will go on to study Psychology at University College London.

Varuni Guruge – Varuni achieved three As in maths, biology and chemistry. Varuni will now study medicine at Hull York Medical School.

Andrew Smith- Andrew pictured with his friend Connor Robertson will be celebrating today after achieving four A* results this morning.
