Parents

At Bluecoat Aspley Academy, governors and staff fully recognise the contribution the academies within the Trust make to safeguarding children. We recognise that the safety and protection of all students is of paramount importance and that all staff, including volunteers, have a full and active part to play in providing early help protecting students from harm. We believe that as an academy we should provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment, which promotes the social, physical, emotional and moral development of all students. In delivering this ambition we will adhere to the principles set out in Nottingham’s Family Support Strategy and NCSCB Policy, Procedures and Practice Guidance, in addition to the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2020 statutory guidance.

All staff within the academy receive robust and regular training in order to discharge their safeguarding duties to the highest of standards, ensuring that every one of our students feels safe, secure and listened to. We place great value on educating students in keeping themselves safe through: a comprehensive programme including Acts of Worship delivered by specialist staff; a tailored PHSE programme; and a team of staff dedicated to providing pastoral care, guidance and support. Our relationship with the local authority and other front-line agencies enables us to provide a holistic platform for our students to flourish and achieve.
