Students at Bluecoat Aspley Academy celebrated their hard work this morning as they collected their GCSE results. The Principal, Mrs Anderson said, “It has been a privilege to celebrate GCSE results with our students and families today. These results are well-deserved, and we are proud of them all. Each individual success reminds us that every student at Bluecoat Aspley can achieve their potential, no matter what their starting point or background”.
We are delighted that many of our Year 11s have chosen to stay at Bluecoat Aspley to study A levels, Applied Generals, T Level courses or study on our Level 2 pathway within the Sixth Form. Enrolment is now open for external students too.

“I think that education is highly important. Although school can be tough, I value my education and know how significant it will be in the future. I have always loved the idea of learning; however, anyone can learn when they are dedicated enough. While GCSEs can be stressful and demanding, through hard work you can achieve great grades. I believe that the education that schools provide should be appreciated.”

“Since Year Seven, the thought of doing my GCSEs made me incredibly nervous and unsure about my outcomes, as the exams seemed inevitable and daunting to me. But as the years went on, I became more assured in myself and eventually began to learn, retrieve, and memorise GCSE content. When I reached Year Eleven, the pressure was on to do well and achieve the grades that I needed.
Doing my GCSEs was not at all how I thought it would be! Yes, it was tense and stressful having 24 exams stretched out over five weeks, but the encouragement that I got from my teachers and peers, as well as my own personal drive to excel, is what got me through those weeks and this is reflected in my results.”

“During my mocks, I didn’t have the best grades. I was really lucky with the teachers I got (especially my history and English teacher) and school helped me to improve my grades. My mum has been supportive and I’m happy with my results. I am studying physics, History and math at BAA.”

“I’m on the Autistic Spectrum. That has hindered me in subjects requiring language. However, hard work and dedication, excellent support for my educational needs and support making friends have all helped me to achieve these amazing grades. I couldn’t have achieved this at any other school.”

“I’m proud of my Maths and Further Maths results. My mum encouraged me to focus on Maths because I have dreams of going to Oxbridge. In primary, I wasn’t a studier or a smart student. I decided I wanted to change my life. I have studied hard and I’m proud.”

“I am proud of the results that I have achieved and am grateful for all the support I have had from my key worker Miss Newton. My family have been really supportive. I’m really proud of my RS and DT results.”

“From the end of Year 10 to the end of Year 11, I’ve improved so much. This has been from my hard work and the hard work of my teachers. The mocks and preparation made me feel comfortable going into exams. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have without teachers putting the dedication into the lessons that they did.”
